Q. Why did Cine, LP decide to turn the old theater in a senior apartment complex?
A. Led by downtown developers Jeff and Vickie Doris, Linton Redevelopment, LLC received $6.5 million in tax credit financing from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority for planning, construction and development of the Cine Senior Apartments. The former Cine Theater is an ideal fit for the apartment complex’s location in downtown Linton. The Cine Theater was a staple in Linton’s coal-boom days and the Cine Senior Apartments are a way to help revitalize the downtown-scape. The building will maintain the historic charm of Linton’s Main Street while providing updated amenities for future residents.
Q. When will the apartments be move-in ready?
A. Ciné Senior Apartments are now complete and ready for our residents!
Q. How can/do I qualify to live in the apartments?
A. Cine Senior Apartments is an affordable housing option for seniors. At least one resident in each household must be 55 years of age or over and meet the average income requirements to qualify. Q. What kind of amenities will be available to residents?
A. The apartment complex will feature many on-site facilities available to its residents. These amenities will include, but are not limited to, an on-site leasing office, in-unit laundry hookups, resident and guest dining center, rooftop patio, greenhouse, garden area, screened in porch, lending library, computer center, exercise room and game room.
Q. How much does it cost to rent a unit?
A. Monthly rent costs will depend on income level and unit size, ranging from the high $200s to low $600s
Q. What’s included in my rent?
A. Resident’s monthly rent payment includes access to all community spaces, as well as water and sewage utility payments. All Cine Senior Apartments’ rooms are energy-efficient total electric spaces.
Q. Will there be an adequate amount of parking space for residents?
A. The Cine Senior Apartments will have parking space for all residents in addition to guest parking. We plan to have a surface parking lot at the front of the building, with a large portico leading into the main entryway.
Q. Are smoking and non-smoking rooms available?
A. The apartment complex is a smoke-free facility, including all resident rooms and community spaces.
Q. Is the facility handicap accessible? Are there going to be special handicap accessible units?
A. Yes, the facility is completely handicap accessible including residential room options.
Q. Will there be medical staff on-site? Will Cine Senior Apartments provide any transportation for its residents?
A. No, the Cine Senior Apartments is not an assisted living facility and will not provide any direct medical care. The complex is within walking and delivery distance from Linton Family Pharmacy and within two blocks of the city’s emergency response personnel.
